CNC Machining in Cambridgeshire & Precision Timber Components
Precision CNC machining for bespoke one-off projects, joinery components and small batch production from our Cambridgeshire workshop.

At KMP Carpentry & Joinery, we provide CNC machining as part of our workshop. We work with trade clients, designers, businesses and private customers across the UK. By combining modern CNC technology with over 45 years of joinery experience, we machine components that are designed for real-world use.
Our 3-axis CNC machine (2400mm x 1200mm bed) allows us to machine full sheets and larger components with precision and repeat accuracy. If you are developing a project that requires repeat components, bespoke machining or prototype development we are happy to review drawings or ideas and advise on the best approach.
If you’re unsure whether CNC machining is right for your project, you can read more in our guide on when to use CNC machining for timber projects.
CNC Machining for Trade, Design & Bespoke Projects
We work with a mix of clients, from homeowners and designers through to joinery workshops and commercial businesses.
Some projects involve one-off bespoke pieces or early ideas, while others require repeat components and ongoing CNC support. Whatever the job, our focus is clear communication, accurate machining and components that are ready to use.
Our CNC Machining Services
We offer a range of CNC machining services designed to support private clients as well as commercial and trade projects.
CNC Routing & Precision Cutting
Used for cutting panels, components and sheet materials to exact sizes, giving clean edges and consistent results across every part.
Profile Cutting & Custom Shaping
Ideal for projects with curves, angles or unique shapes that would be difficult or time-consuming to achieve by hand
Pocketing, Recesses & Cut-Outs
Commonly used for housings, insets and joinery details, ensuring components fit together accurately during assembly.
Engraving & Detailed Lettering
Suitable for signage, branding and decorative elements where clean, consistent detail is important.
Routed Joinery & Furniture Components
If you’re producing multiple parts, CNC allows us to machine consistent components ready for assembly, helping streamline your workflow.
Prototype Development
A practical way to test sizing, fit and finish before committing to full production.
Small Batch CNC Production
For repeat components without large production volumes, we machine small batches with reliable turnaround and consistent quality.

Not sure if CNC is right for your project?
If you’re unsure whether CNC machining is the best approach, feel free to send us your drawings, sketches or even just an idea. We’re happy to take a look and advise on the best way forward.
Workshop Capability & Materials
Our CNC is a 3-axis machine with a 2400mm × 1200mm bed, which allows us to machine full sheets and larger components with ease.
We regularly work with:
- solid hardwoods
- plywood
- MDF
- laminated boards
If you’re unsure about materials, we’re always happy to advise. In many cases, we can also suggest options that improve durability or machining efficiency.
CAD Design & Project Input
Projects come to us at different stages, so we keep things flexible.
If you already have files, we can review and prepare them for machining. If not, we can design from scratch or adjust your existing drawings so they’re ready for production.
We accept:
.svg, .dxf, .step, .ai and .stl files
CAD support is provided as part of a machining project, with the understanding that we will then manufacture the components.

From Workshop to Delivery
Once everything is confirmed, we handle machining, checking and preparation in-house.
We ship components across the UK or you can collect directly from our Cambridgeshire workshop. All items are packaged securely using recycled materials, and we use Royal Mail Tracked services depending on lead times.
For larger projects, we can also assist with installation, which can be discussed during planning.
A Joinery Workshop with CNC Precision
Our CNC capability sits within a working joinery workshop, which means every component is produced with its final use in mind.
We understand how timber behaves, how components fit together and how projects come together on site. As a result, the parts we produce are not just accurate but they’re also practical and ready to use.
