Bespoke Media Wall Installation in Cambridgeshire
Centrepiece for Contemporary Living
We designed, built and installed this media wall for a modern kitchen-diner in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. Every project we take on is tailored to the space it’s going into, balancing layout and how the room is actually used day to day. In this case, the goal was to create a clean, built-in feature that worked alongside the existing kitchen while keeping everything practical and safe.
Fire-Safe Structure & Compliance
This media wall was going to include a fireplace so the structure needed to meet strict fire safety requirements. We used non-combustible metal studwork alongside cement board and FireLine plasterboard to achieve an A1 fire rating. This ensures the wall is safe, compliant with UK building standards and still allows for a clean, fitted finish.
This approach is carried through all of our media wall installations where heat and ventilation need to be considered.
Finishing Joinery in Solid Oak
To bring warmth into the space, the media wall was finished with oak joinery, including custom cupboard doors and trim. Ride & hide hinges were used to keep the doors flush when closed, while still being practical for everyday use.
The result is built-in storage that elevates the finished look and seamlessly blends into the client’s existing kitchen design.
Lighting & Final Touches
Finally, LED lighting was fitted within the shelving and around the TV recess to add both function and atmosphere. It provides enough light for practical use while also softening the overall look of the wall in the evenings. Small details like this help turn a fitted TV wall into a feature that works throughout the day.
