We work across Cambridgeshire, including Cambridge, Huntingdon, St Neots, Ely, St Ives and surrounding areas. Much of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals. We believe the way we work speaks for itself.

As local carpenters, we take on projects that need skill, careful planning and attention to detail. So, if that sounds like what you are looking for, we would love to hear from you.

Traditional and Heritage Joinery

Traditional joinery deserves a careful approach. We build bespoke timber windows and doors, carry out heritage timber repairs and create made-to-measure joinery for listed buildings, period properties and conservation projects while respecting the character of the original building.

CNC Machining and Timber Components

Our CNC machining service supports joinery companies, designers and manufacturers with precision timber components, routing, engraving and small batch production. By combining modern CNC technology with traditional joinery knowledge, we produce consistent results for projects across the UK.

How We Work

We follow a clear process on every project and keep communication open throughout. As a result, you always know what stage your project is at and what happens next.

Step One: Consultation & Planning

First, we take time to understand your project properly. We ask the right questions, visit site where needed and provide honest, practical advice before any work begins.

Step Two: Craftsmanship & Fabrication

Next, we design and build your project in our Cambridgeshire workshop using quality, responsibly sourced materials. We combine traditional joinery craftsmanship with modern precision machinery to achieve accurate, consistent and high-quality results.

Step Three: Installation & Completion

Finally, we install everything ourselves with the same level of care used during production. We do not consider a project complete until it meets the standard agreed from the start.

We have worked with homeowners, businesses and commercial clients across Cambridgeshire. Some clients come to us for large property improvements, while others need a reliable commercial joinery contractor. Many return to us again and recommend us to others.

I have used KMP services on many occasions over the last twenty years. I have used them for work on both my business premises and home.

They are very professional in their approach and their knowledge is vast.

I would definitely recommend them, as they are 100% trustworthy. I just give them my keys and walk away, knowing that my place will be clean, tidy and safe when I return.

March | Extension & Kitchen Fit Client

I had a live-edge oak slab that needed someone skilled enough to handle the engraving without damaging the character of the wood. KMP Carpentry & Joinery have been brilliant from start to finish.

It’s rare to find a small business that treats your project like their own, but these guys do. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be using them again.

Why Work With KMP?

Joinery is a skilled trade that takes years to learn properly. Karl has spent more than 45 years building that knowledge across craft carpentry, advanced craft and machining. As a result, that experience shows in every project we take on. From traditional joinery techniques to complex structural timber work, we choose methods based on the quality of the final result.

We are a workshop that designs, makes and installs. We carry public liability insurance, work with FSC and PEFC certified timber and follow a structured approach on every project, no matter the size. Most clients come to us because they value quality, reliability and honest workmanship. In return, they get a team that genuinely cares about the finished work and takes responsibility for it from start to finish.
