Oak Acoustic Wall & Console Installation

Modern Living Room Upgrade

St Neots, Cambridgeshire

Modern design and practical craftsmanship came together in this bespoke living room project in St Neots. Our clients wanted to improve both the look and sound quality of their space, while keeping the finish clean, contemporary and timeless. As specialists in bespoke joinery in Cambridgeshire, we designed and installed a custom oak acoustic wall with a coordinating console and plinth. Every element was made to measure, ensuring the final result felt intentional and balanced.

Acoustic Feature Wall

First, we focused on the wall behind the TV, which needed to work both visually and acoustically. To achieve this, we installed oak-faced acoustic panelling, carefully aligned to create a clean vertical flow.

Not only does panelling reduce echo and improve sound quality, but it also adds warmth and depth to modern living spaces. As a result, this wall became a feature rather than just a backdrop, with careful attention paid to spacing, proportions and grain direction throughout.

Custom TV Plinth

Next, we built a bespoke plinth for the TV cabinet so everything sat neatly against the new wall. To keep the look clean and grounded, we painted the plinth black to match the cabinet.

Because every room is different, we made the plinth specifically for this space. As a result, it fits seamlessly and creates a built-in look without gaps or off-the-shelf compromises.

Oak Console Shelf

Finally, we designed and installed a matching oak-veneered console shelf with solid oak edging and black sapele legs. This added both function and balance, while also tying in with the tones and textures of the acoustic wall.

At this point, it was all about the details. By focusing on precise joinery and considered material choices, we made sure the space feels calm, practical and pulled together.
