We designed this bespoke media wall for a modern kitchen-diner in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, blending safety, storage, and contemporary style in one seamless design. Built with precision joinery, oak detailing, and integrated LED lighting, this project demonstrates our expertise in custom media wall installations across Cambridgeshire.
Fire-Safe Structure & Compliance
Due to its location near a working fireplace, the media wall needed to meet strict fire safety regulations. We used non-combustible metal studwork, cement board and FireLine plasterboard to achieve an A1 fire rating. These materials provided both safety and flexibility while fully complying with UK building standards.
Finishing Joinery in Solid Oak
To elevate the finished look, we added solid oak joinery details including custom cupboard doors and trim. Using ride & hide hinges, the storage doors maintain a sleek, modern aesthetic while remaining practical. This oak detailing introduced warmth and texture, seamlessly blending the bespoke media wall with the client’s existing kitchen design.
Lighting & Final Touches
Custom LED lighting was fitted across shelving and around the TV recess, creating both functional illumination and a subtle ambient glow. This feature enhanced the media wall’s depth and atmosphere, making it not only a practical TV wall solution but also a contemporary centrepiece for open-plan living.
